Our Story

Born in 2020, when a dream started to become a reality.

The Feather Trail is an independently owned café offering locally roasted Dancing Goat coffee with comforting, homely styled menus using ingredients sourced only miles away: breakfast, brunch and lunchtime menus, a full range of loose leaf teas, distinctive homemade cakes and an exclusive takeaway menu to enjoy on your country walk, at your work bench or in the comforts of your home.

We believe in consistent good quality, homemade, affordable food and excellent service - values that are shared by our employees and the suppliers we work with.

Our Name

‘The Feather Trail’ connects our cafe with our own personal journeys trekking through Yorkshire on our down time. We have explored a lot of the trails, bridleways and public footpaths that sprawl throughout North Yorkshire and each time we have reconnected with the outdoors and taken memories of these locations of outstanding beauty in the form of feathers. Every forest, stream and moor has shown us down the feather trail and every trail is an eye opening experience that we would love to share and tie into our business venture. One of our main focuses is to provide food and drink for these journeys and days out with our own love and knowledge of the area to guide people along the feather trail.

The feather often represents strength and growth, as well as hope and freedom.
